Movitext Joins GSMA Open Gateway as a Channel Partner to Accelerate Network API Adoption in Latin America

Movitext will support mobile network operators and enterprises across Latin America in turning network capabilities into secure, scalable and commercially ready digital services.

Tegucigalpa, Honduras — May 8th, 2026Movitext, a leading business messaging and mobile identity solutions provider in Central America, today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the GSMA and joined the GSMA Open Gateway initiative as Channel Partner.

Through this collaboration, Movitext will work to support the adoption, commercialization and implementation of standardized Network APIs across Latin America, helping mobile network operators expose valuable network capabilities to enterprises, developers, fintechs, banks, retailers and digital platforms in a secure, interoperable and scalable way.

GSMA Open Gateway is designed to provide a common framework of network APIs that enables developers and enterprises to access mobile operator capabilities consistently across markets and networks. As demand grows for real-time digital identity, fraud prevention, authentication and advanced connectivity use cases, Channel Partners play an important role in helping bridge operator capabilities with enterprise demand.

Movitext’s participation in the initiative builds on its experience working with mobile operators, enterprises and digital businesses across Central America. The company has more than 11 years of experience enabling enterprise communication and messaging infrastructure services, and states that it has direct connectivity with 16 operators across the region. Its portfolio includes SMS and WhatsApp Business API solutions, campaign management tools, analytics platforms, SMS payments and Mobile ID solutions.

As a GSMA Open Gateway Channel Partner, Movitext will focus on helping mobile network operators in Latin America accelerate go-to-market strategies for Network APIs, including commercial enablement, enterprise demand generation, product positioning and regional partnership development. Initial areas of focus are expected to include APIs related to fraud prevention, digital identity, authentication and customer experience, such as Number Verification, SIM Swap and other CAMARA-aligned capabilities.

“Joining GSMA Open Gateway as a Channel Partner is an important milestone for Movitext and for our vision of becoming a strategic partner to mobile network operators in Latin America,” said Manuel Bardales, CEO of Movitext. “We believe Network APIs will create a new chapter for the telecom industry by allowing operators to safely expose the power of their networks to enterprises that need stronger digital trust, better authentication and more seamless customer experiences.”

“Movitext sits at a unique intersection between mobile operators, enterprise messaging, digital identity and regional market demand,” said Roberto Ortiz, Product Partnership Manager at Movitext. “Our goal is to help operators transform Open Gateway APIs from technical capabilities into real commercial products that can solve real business problems for banks, fintechs, retailers and digital platforms across Latin America.”

The collaboration also reflects Movitext’s broader commitment to supporting the evolution of the telecom ecosystem in the region. By combining its local market knowledge, carrier relationships and enterprise customer base, Movitext aims to help reduce fragmentation in the adoption of Network APIs and support a more consistent, scalable and developer-friendly API economy across Latin America.

“We are pleased to welcome Movitext as a GSMA Open Gateway Channel Partner. Their regional expertise and experience working with mobile operators and enterprises in Latin America will support the expansion of standardized Network APIs and help accelerate the development of new digital services across the ecosystem,” said Henry Calvert, Head of Networks, GSMA.
